Troubleshooting Tips
2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Drawn_orange

This little thread is made to ensure smooth sailing with the pack and help some people with some common problems when installing the pack and after.
This should've been done from the start but i guess it's to late for that now as people's problems and answers are spread all over the place.

1.Clean your master files
•Numerous tutorials out there but for the lazy people here's a simple one

2.Re-create the bashed patch and SkyProc patches to ensure maximum compatibility

3.Folder path is one of the most important things to ensure the pack works correctly.

•No matter the install path you take when you install the game make sure to rename it properly as per instructions
•X:\Skyrim is the best option to ensure optimal compatibility for everyone.
•The alternative options are good if you don't have another choice but not really recommended
-This is because pack don't only use one file to read where your mods and tools are, i say again first or second way to install the pack is the the one i recommend

Q: How do i know if the pack is wrongfully installed?
A: Mod Organizer won't recognize where the mods are, will not read the correct load order and you won't see the icons for various tools in the toolbar.

*Incorrect Install of the pack:
2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Image

*Correct Install pack:
2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Image

4.Make sure profile RottenDub is selected in MO
2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Image

5.Make sure load order is correct.
•Mod order should be sorted by Priority automatically starting with dawnguard.

*Example of MO's left pane correct load order start

*Example of MO's left pane correct load order end
2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes End

*Example of MO's right pane correct load order end
2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Endr

Q: Failed to start SKSE?SKSE not found?
A: Bad install path

Q: Failed to initialize render or display not supported.
A: Change resolution for the pack (See performance guide)

Q: Game crashes on new game or game load.
A: Don't run task manager (see knowledge base)

Q: Game freezes into place
A: Remove Auto Saves manager

Q: Game crashes when i sleep
A: Don't install a crazy amount of mods (Dynamic Vampire Appearance - DVA for example is known to do this)

Q: I get very bad performance in Whiterun
A : Disable Dawn of Skyrim Collection (see performance guide)

Q: Werewolf transformations are bugged?
A: Fixed in 4.4

Q: After i change my texture quality some particle and effects seem to be bugged.
A: After you change texture quality open skyrimprefs.ini and make sure this is set to 0 iTexMipMapSkip=0

Q: When I extracted "Skyrim Perfectly Modded V4.3" , I FOUND another folder CALLED "Skyrim Mods" inside that I found 2 more folders "Bash Installers" "Bash Mod Data"
A : You just place the folder next to your skyrim folder, they contain some info for wrye bash  bashed patch.

Q: I have no char animation (aka T-pose)
A: Locate GenerateFNISforUsers.exe via search in the Skyrim folder, right click, properties, compatibility tab, ensure run as admin is selected.

-Run FNIS through MO
-Only click the first 2 options (gender specific and skeleton arm fix)
-If momo jump is ticked, detick it.
-Right Click overwrite folder >>> Create new mod >>> FNIS movement.

Q:I have some SKSE files regarding my survival mods data in my overwrite folder
A:Right Click Overwrite folder >>> Create new mod >>> name it Survival Profiles.

Hope this covers some of the repeated questions about installing the pack.
If something isn't covered here, ask away and i'll try to help.
If you find a gameplay bug please post in bugs&fixes not here; this is for people who have trouble installing the pack.

•(Not really a bug but good to know)After you change texture quality open skyrimprefs.ini and make sure this is set to 0 iTexMipMapSkip=0

CTD

•Encountered 1 CTD trying to get to Helgen for the first time
*Unable to reproduce

•Possible fix for CTD on save.
Since some people say their game crash on save i tried to reproduce it.
After many failures to crash the pack i sorted the load-order incorrectly both in left and right pane, this led to crashes on save.
So no.1 make sure your load order is correct as per http://www.modwat.ch/u/RottenDub
•Doing this i've noticed the CTD on save kept happening after the load order was corrected.
•Also noticed the game tries to create a temporary save-game adding a .tmp after the name when crashing.
•To resolve go to your game-saves path and delete all the files that contain the .tmp extension
C:\Users\YOURUSER\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves or X:\Skyrim\profiles\RottenDub\Saves
•Game should not crash now with a correct load order.

•Possible fix for CTD when you transition to a new cell or can't access a certain cell or general areas
•Delete all the .tmp and .bak (see above for locations)
•Double load your game
•Type "player.kill" in console
•Load and save you game
•Type "coc riverwood"
•Save your game
•Try going to that area now now

Bug reporting

•If you find a bug this is the place to submit it but first please make sure

*You followed install guide, install troubleshot and performance guide and pack was installed correctly
*All bugs should be submitted after you slay the first dragon to avoid any conflicts with alternative start and pack it's put through it's normal paces.
*If you add you're own mods to the pack it's your responsibility to follow modding etiquette correct load order and so forth, this is not the place to troubleshot the mods you add on your own.

Hopefully that covers it for now.
Cheers!

I thought that this was interesting.
"Travel lantern" ,"Leather Vial Holder - Back Right" and "Dwarven Head Gear 1" share the same equipment slot in your equipment so you can only have 1 equipped. You can make the Leather vial holder at the tanning rack and Dwarven Head Gear 1 at a forge.

PostSubject: Andromeda summon is buggy,   2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes EmptySat Jun 18, 2016 2:52 am

I noticed that when I summoned the Andromeda spirit as an option using the R1 button on my Xbox 360 controller. She died on me on the first mission in Helgen Keep (about halfway through). Then I re-summoned her after 5 minutes of in-game time which I had to wait for. She summoned successfully but then just floated in the air being totally unresponsive. She was also clipped a quarter way through the floor looking down at a 90 degree angle. I decided to finish some quests at Whiterun and return back to the the same spot after a few hours. When I came back to Helgen Keep, there was an ash pile where she used to be stuck at. No matter what I did, I could not re-summon her even when I switched up her form. Can you see if it's a bug with this mod? I also noticed it is an older version of the mod from Nexus that is installed for the Andromeda summon.

I'm having an issue leaving the inn in Winterhold. I'm on your newest version 4.2. Every time I try to leave the inn the load screen starts, it seems like it's gonna open in Winterhold and then CTD. I can consistently recreate this. I tried using a console command to teleport elsewhere and same thing, sort of. The world loaded, but about 2 seconds later CTD. I'm about 20+ hours in and so far it's been working flawlessly on my rig, which is a 980m gpu, I7 5700HQ, and 32GB of RAM. I'm gonna remake my bashed and skyproc patches in the morning because I might have done them wrong, maybe. Outside of this the pack has worked flawlessly for the most part. I get stutter here and there, but I think it's more to do with no one ever supporting a mobile GPU so it's never properly optimized.

So, my load order was not correct. For some reason I believed that recreating the skyproc patches would just put them back in the same order they were originally. If I simply would have double checked I would have noticed that it didn't in two seconds. Suffice to say I am not a smart person. Although, I do have a WTF patch active and that is not listed in your load order. Should I remove it or have it lowest on the list. Also, thanks for all your hard work, this mod pack has been absolutely amazing.

My load order on your mods is 100% correct, but i did add  few mods, maybe i didn't put them in the correct load order, even if i tried to follow your suggestion in the load order topic best that i could.

Anyway i'm at the 60th savegame without crashes so maybe the issue fixed itself xD.

When following vid tutorial to remake ASIS patch - i lost the ASIS.esp.  ASIS-dependency remains.  But i have absolutely no idea what could have happened to ASIS.esp.  Pretty sure i am borked, and will require a reinstall.
More Importantly -  upon launch of new game, in abandoned prison @ character creation, everything is VERY dark, darker still with enb enabled (i have seen this before, but i am not sure what to do about it, as my brightness on lcd panel, and NVCP have been increased, maxed on panel settings).  Even more troublesome, and what makes the game at this point unplayable, is missing eye textures for all human eye texture using races... elves, humans and orcs alike.  After character creation in the abandoned prison, certain camera angles will create a COMPLETELY WHITE screen.

IF i were to get these things sorted, is there a way to inject some sort of AA by adding a reshade, or sweetfx? I can't do jagged edges, and there be a plenty. If i enable fxaa i get all kinds of issues, and same with multi sampling i assume in correlation with the enb.  I have read through troubleshooting, but haven't seen any FAQ documentation relevant to these specific issues.  I have followed the install guide to what i thought was a "tee".  I have added no mods, and made no changes to the ini's although i was tempted, but decided to wait and confirm a good gameplay.  Any help is greatly appreciated, i feel like i am so close to this wonderfulness that has been provided, but i am so far away still lol.

I abandoned 1440p the minute i experienced the issue with the configurator, and never tried running the game at this resolution.

Very clear now that i should not mess with AA settings from configurator.  However, if i were to enable multisample from the prefsini would there be any incompatibilities with your pack?  Otherwise, is there a non conflicting method to provide some edge smoothing? I am currently looking for alternate enbs to see if smaa is used more liberally.

From my understanding, much of these tutorials were help to at least further knowledge about the related topics, and at most help those with issues upgrading from earlier versions of PM4 to PM 4.2 which solved many earlier issues.  Should i still, if installing a fresh PM 4.2, be cleaning masters, rebuilding a bash patch, and the skyproc(s)?  Just to avoid annoyances, please let me assure you i read, watched, and followed the tutorials before posting here.

Cleaning masters, bashed and skyprocs is recommended.

Other ENB's might not work or look good with the current 4.2 version of the pack.
See : http://perfectlymodded.forumz.ro/t146-regarding-enb-s

Alternative to messing with ini's :
2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Image

In general try using Nvidia CP instead of the ini's from game or ENB.

PostSubject: Re: 2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes   2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes EmptyWed Jul 06, 2016 8:57 pm

So in enblocal.ini i have changed usespeedhackswithoutgraphics=true which i understand to disable all enb graphical effects.  This is the only way the game will play without a large number of textures being filled in all white.  Somewhere there is an enb conflict.  Also i am getting extremely low GPU utilization, usually around 30-50% with core clock around 1000mhz.. where my standard clock is 1215 and boosts to over 1300.  This is causing poor performance.  Game is on a 7200 rpm 16MB cache, 3gb/s HDD.  4790k cpu, 16 gb 2100mhz ram, strix 980 ti.  I used the 8 core threaded optimized inis in hopes for clean performance, and increase usage of the cpu.  I am not seeing the benefit.  im on 368.39 drivers.2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Driver10    ...2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Nvcp10 2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Nvcp210 these are NVCP settings.  I did not manipulate load order, or change mods in any way.  I did enable 'dawn of skyrim'.  It was my assumption that i should have more than enough resources to run this game modded or no - FO4 runs better.. with significantly less mods, but i'm sure i meet recommended specs for your pack?? I know you have countless confirmed working installations of this pack as well.  I clearly have it installed properly, as i get no CTD. and can play the game otherwise..  However the enb is not playing well, and the performance is awful.. I will proceed with mod cleaning, bash, and procs... but any thoughts? Any more information needed?
another thing to consider is L shift + enter (just read it should be L shift + ctrl so disregard that i guess) does not bring up enb menu, instead it shows small white square where cursor would be, and running game with enb enabled completely causes game window to become small and placed in upper left hand corner of display... hoping some of this rings a bell...

Hello, I've installed the mod (4.3) but something seems to have gone horribly wrong...
I first tried to make a new game but the game just "stops" after the texts and the bethesda logo slides out of view.

Then I restarted the game and tried to load one of the optional saves but instead I get this:
Spoiler:
And if I pick continue it just crashes.

By the way, this is my MO, looks pretty normal to me, so I don't know what's wrong...

Strange as everything seems to be good including folder path and load order.

Dumb thing to say on my part but you did start the game by pressing run on SKSE right?

Yes, I did... I'll try stuff around, maybe creating another partition on my other hard drive and give it the letter X instead to see if it helps.

By the way, very lovely mod collection and I can't wait to play it, once I figure out what's going on.

Edit: One thing I did notice was that at least some mods were definitely loaded in, I can use shift+enter to toggle effects and the music played on the main menu is your music. Weird it says it can't detect those base files.

Edit 2: After moving it to another hard disk, the game became normal, at least. Now it gives me this error message a little bit into starting the game:
Spoiler:

I have re-extracted both of the \landscape folders in the zip file. Do you think I have made some mistake or the torrent file is corrupted?

Actually I have re-extracted any mod in MO MODS which seems to relate to grass/ground textures, but still no luck for now. unhappy

yeah i did and i also wanted to ask why some quests are unobtainable?I remember when i talked to that armored woman in whiterun inn that she would let me fight her for gold but she doesnt have that option in this modpack and ysolde doesnt have that mammoth tusk quest as option when i talk to her did i set something wrong in the mcm mod settings?

Check the choice is yours in MCM and i guess for some quests you need to be dragonborn?(aka absorb a soul of a dragon)

That's not a bug you haven't configured your mods.

EDIT : This has been addressed about 5 times now, i don't make all these tutorials and videos just for the sake of making them, they serve a purpose and that is helping people out.

Hey there guys, I have spent all day trying to sort this issue.  Npcs seem to be fine but my character has a dark colored head and neck in comparison to the body. Have tried to uninstall and reinstall skyrim/mods many of a time. But no dice. Thanks in advance and yeah I am nub2.Troubleshooting Tips, Known Bugs & Fixes Screen10If you guys have any tips it would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, this is a wonderful pack! Thank you so much Rotten for working sso hard to make this available to all of us!

I'm about 18 hours into my game and I'm running into issues with saving. It crashes whenever I try to save my game or whenever an autosave action takes place (sleeping). This happened in the past and I just reverted to the previous save and rewrote it with no issues. However this time, it seems like every savegame I load, no matter how far in the past they are, it crashes when I try to save the game.

I have made sure my load order is correct and I have deleted every tmp file in the saves folder. I'm still running into issues.

Any ideas?

Also, I'm not sure if this is significant but this is my overwrite window. I'm not too versed in MO so I'm not sure if this is supposed to be like this or not.

EDIT: I have also tried to disable autosave and it still crashes whenever I try to manually save.

EDIT #2: I seemed to have worked around it. I loaded a gamesave twice and then saved over it with no crash. So I guess my question has changed. Any ideas on what the cause of this is and how to stop it? I'd rather not have to double-load my game every time I play.

Hello!

•About the overwrite folder :
-Right click it >>> create new mod >>> name it survival profiles (or anything you want)and activate it.

•I have yet to encounter crash when saving but 3 people reported it so it must be a snag somewhere, i just haven't experience it yet.
A small cause (this is guesswork) is that some of the scripts don't get properly loaded first time.
-Beside deleting .tmp and .bak saves i don't know what to tell you expect disable all autosaves and only manually save.

cssrp very strange, you are the first one to report this.Everything installed correctly?Correct paths and SKSE started from the MO's drop-down menu?

Sorry about that mate but you posted questions that were answered in install instructions, one of the support threads or already answered a lot of times, plus you kept spamming the same questions in different threads, so for the sake of me remaining civil and calm i stopped answering.

Use a search engine to find all three of those answers.  Rotten didn't make that mod or Mod Organizer, he's not here just to help you, in fact he's just said that he's finished trying to help you.  Really, stop asking for help and start searching for it, I think you'll find answers much faster that way.

This answers some of my questions.  It sounds like your Windows install isn't very stable, which means nothing here that is "right for us" is necessarily right for you at all.
ppsgr81 wrote:
Another game crash when i entered a cave..... hey rotten if u know what i did wrong cant u just make it easier and tell me please?
It crashes everytime i go there darkshade cavern
I would like this to be the last crash that you report, please.  There isn't a specific known fix to each individual crash instance or in-game location.  Unless you did everything wrong at the same time (and I think higher of you than that) then most of your issues probably stem from just one or a few root issues, which it's starting to sound like involve your Windows install, DirectX, Visual C++, hardware drivers or the like.  And before you ask "What do I do then?", don't.  Type each of them into your browser search engine and read about it.  Your frequency of already answered question posts here is making the forum a more difficult environment for others to find many of the same answers you're looking for.  Please slow down, stop, think about what you would like to find out and whether you really need to ask for help with it.  Search and research first, better yet search and research only, because you're not a considerate enough communicator to post politely, and making your video game work isn't more important than our peace of mind.  Good luck.
