Recommended System Requirements
OS: Win7 64 bit/Win 10 64bit Processor: Intel i7 6700k CPU Memory: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz Hard Drive: 120 GB SSD Graphics Card: DirectX 11 graphics card 4GB VRAM or better(Nvidia GTX 970) Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Keyboard and Mouse
Important:
This guide is designed to install this modpack with as little effort as possible. If all steps were followed correctly you should not have an issue starting the game. If you encounter a problem running Mod Organizer or Skyrim then it is strongly suggested you start over.
The Modpack is also designed for a Legendary install on the X:\ Drive. If you have the Steam installation you will need to edit ini files to reflect your current installation directory. READ STEP 4 OF THE STEAM INSTALL CAREFULLY. If done incorrectly MO & Skyrim will not work properly.
You need to have 80 GB free in the C:\ Drive and 80GB free in X:\ Drive for smooth sailing *Using extract to instead of drag and drop could lead to better unpack speed and less problems *I am not an expert on archivers but i know that if you used drag and drop they will temporarily extract that data to C:\
Quote :I see. I've solved that by having the extraction temporary folder to be in another, way more spacious drive. Thanks. Legendary Edition (NON STEAM INSTALL GUIDE)
Install Video Guide
Step by Step Guide
Step 1: Create a new drive with the assigned letter "X" or SSD users can simply assign a drive the letter X
*Drive Requirement: 100GB or 102,400MB *Mod Organizer already uses virtualization technology/technique so adding a virtual drive might lead to bad results.
OR
Step 2: Install Skyrim legendary edition in X:\
*New folder path should be X:\Skyrim, if folder paths is not exactly "X:\Skyrim"pack will not function properly. *Delete the 3 high resolution .bsa and 3 high resolution .esp if you have them in data folder.
Step 3: Extract the contents of the pack in X:\Skyrim (use 7zip for error free operation)
*Supported game language and windows local language is English only. Change at your own risks. *This should go without saying but a forum user made this point.Make sure you don't install the pack into "X:\Skyrim\Skyrim" the pack should be extracted to Skyrim root folder.
Step 4: Set video settings from Nvidia Control Panel (Manage 3D Settings>Program Settings) or ATI equivalent for TESV.exe to the following:
Ambient Occlusion
OFF
Anisotropic Filtering
APPLICATION CONTROLLED
Antialiasing
APPLICATION CONTROLLED
Antialiasing Transparency
OFF
Vsync
ON
*Pack should run fine with Win7 and Win 10 with the latest Nvidia drivers *AMD users please see: AMD Software (Also this thread) *More feedback is required from AMD users on this.ENB was not built with AMD in-mind.
Step 5: Start MO (ModOrganizer.exe) and make sure all mods from left and right pane are activated.
*ModOrganizer.exe is found in X:\Skyrim don't install in C:\ as some users have!
Step 6: Start SKSE through MO to play the game.
*New Games will not have preconfigured mods. *Preconfigured mod saves are located in the optional folder and must be transferred to your save location. (V4.1 does not contain pre-configured saves)
*Do NOT run LOOT or let it sort your mods, mods have been manually sorted both in left and right pane of MO to ensure maximum compatibility *Make sure you have all the redist required ( look for -=SPM redist=- folder )
Step 7: Start a new game or load one of the saves. *Saves are within the Optional Folder and must be transferred to the X:\Skyrim\
That's it!Enjoy!
STEAM INSTALL GUIDE (MUST HAVE ALL DLCS)

Hi Panda, did you use 7zip to extract the files? If not you should.
Hi Panda, did you use 7zip to extract the files? If not you should.
It's still not working! I re-extracted all 24GB to the new partition as well as extracted only ETaC Basic •RM• again, the error still occurs. I have also downloaded the ETaC - RESOURCES.bsa from the nexusmod.com, same thing happens too. Meanwhile, i even tried copying+pasting your ETaC Basic •RM• to my own Skyrim Mod Organizer(on another partition), same error occurs from mod organizer too. :(

You still didn't answer my question if you used 7zip for extracting or not.
Everything in the pack is portable and people are already running the pack, i'm not saying you did something wrong installing it but there's a possibility.
Did you use the installer version to install your mod organizer to the other partition? it might be a small chance that they are "fighting" each other.
I'm extracting the pack now and will do some testing.
EDIT : Extracted the pack and run MO as standalone even without the game it throws no errors and everything loads.

I already used 7zip and yeah it's faster but still no luck. I'm redownloading your torrent once more and this time, i'll turn off anti-virus. I did not use the installer version of my own Mod Organizer. Also, i do not think i made a mistake installing the modpack as all the plugins and load order are exactly as you stated above. I'll be back once i finish downloading but the speed isn't as good as i first got it~ Only around 600kb/sec compared to when i first got it, 2.4mb/sec. NO worries, i'll seed!

Try backing up your other installation and remove any trace of mod organizer first, these are just suggestions as this is untapped water for me as I've never seen this error you described before.
1.First create a new drive with the assigned letter "X" and give it 100GB (102,400MB ),and no i don't recommend any alternative to this.
Hey there,
just one question... Have u tried to make a virtual Partition? CMD -> subst?
I am downloading the mod pack right now and I will try to do it with a virtual partition. Would be nicer not to shrink my drive ;) The other thing I wanted to ask... Is this working with the Steam Version? Haven`t done much with mods except the Nexus Mod Launcher...
Sorry for the beginner questions x)

Hello!Yes it's was discussed and tried before with bad results!MO already uses a virtualization process/technique so putting more virtualization on top of other virtualization is not a good idea IMO Yeah it will work with any version, you'll have to move and rename some files. But the way the pack is setup and how everything works it won't use anything related to steam since it won't use TESV.exe to start the game and it should never use SkyrimLauncher.exe You should install the pack to a clean version of the game with no mods in it.

I'm having some weird trouble regarding the modpack. My PC just has an instant shutdown and I have no clue why. It only occurs during playing Skyrim, I have played other graphically intensive games such as the Witcher 3 on ultra with no issues. I can mention that it also happens with the other modpack Skyrim The Journey, but did not happen with your V3 Beta 1 Version.
My Hardware:
GTX 980 Ti Hybrid i7-6700K 32GB DDR4 RAM ASUS SABERTOOTH Z177
My psu is quite a bit old , could it possibly be faulty and only show during Skyrim somehow?

OKAY! I fixed it! I found out why your installed ETaC doesn't work on my newly installed skyrim or my own skyrim. The reason behind it is because my windows system locale is set to Japanese(i need it to play visual novel), not United States. At first i downloaded fresh ETaC from the nexus and installed it PROPERLY(no manual install) this time to both my skyrim(s) and they started up with no issue. Maybe you can update that your pack requires the correct System Locale next time! :D And i noticed that your enblocal.ini does not have this:
@fredman are you running at 1440p?I also have an ASUS MB and it does the same thing (restarting PC) if i try to run any games at 1440p after a while even if i disabled asus anti surge protection i also suspect it's because of the PSU i have a Corsair 650VS and it might not keep up with everything.I also have a similar system but 780GTX and 16GB of RAM but i also have 3 HDDS(250,500,1TB) and a 120GB SSD.Wanted to get a good PSU for a long time but things are very expensive in my country and i'm broke AF. This pack uses a lot more resources in the graphics department than the last one.I'm working on a performance guide right now that might alleviate some of the GPU load.
@PandaSage Glad you worked it out and put a little warning in the install guide. Thanks!
Settings exist but at the bottom as these settings are still experimental and I've notice performance degradation with any of the numbers above 0, you are free to tweak them

That's the weird thing, I'm not running 1440p and even if I was 6GB of VRAM should be enough. It's a really strange issue and it only happens with Skyrim.. I have run stress tests, with higher temperatures and greater load on my hardware, overnight with no issues. I'm also scared to turn off Asus anti surge protection in case my PSU is actually busted. I've deleted the pack, intend to re-download and re-install it, maybe it will work this time? If it doesn't ill try some of the performance tweaks and report back if there was any results..

followed instructions to the T and nothing installed to the correct location, made the new partition, installed skyrim there, extracted the mod file into my Skyrim folder, and none of the mods installed in the correct location, had to individually move every mod to the correct spot before everything worked. At first MO wouldn't recognize any of the mods because they were installed into the wrong location.

How can it be installed in the incorrect locations if pack is preset to recognize all the mods and tools with a predetermined path? You moved the mods from where to where?
1.Install Skyrim 2.Extract the pack to X:\Skyrim 3.Start MO from X:\Skyrim\ModOrganizer.exe
That's all you have to really do.

When i go to run SKSE throu MO I get "couldn't find TESV.exe", obviously I F'ed the install. Where is the TESV.exe? In nividia control panel there is no profile for TESV.exe. I unchecked the "show only programs on this computer" box and found a tesv.exe. It does not seem to be working. I might have to reinstall my video drivers. I read somewhere the profile might not show up if skyrim was installed after a driver update\install.

"couldn't find TESV.exe" - TESV.exe is part of the game and the pack does not contain the game !

When installing this modpack with a steam copy of the game, how does the steam folder and its directory affect installation? Am I okay to install the steam folder to X:? Or is it better to install the game and move just the Skyrim folder later? I saw something similar to this mentioned above, but I wanted to just be sure for clarity's sake.

Pack will be deleted in maximum 24 hours at the request of a mod author. Pack will be modified and re-uploaded again in the next 48 hours without his files.

The different file paths because i have the steam version is whats causing me problems. If anyone with the steam version has gotten it to work could you let me know how. Do i just rename X:\steamapps\... to X:\skyrim? Moving the files from X:\Skyrim\steamapps\common\Skyrim to X:\Skyrim crashes vanilla startup. about to try starting the game through the MO.

Moving the main files back to X:\Skyrim and then using MO to launch the game worked so far. i just hope i won't run into any problems. Also i noticed at the top and left column the box beside "Data Folder for MO RM" is unchecked and it has 3 lines "Unmanaged: Dawnguar, Unmanaged: HearthFires, Unmanaged: Dragonborn"... normal?

I'm getting an error, followed by another error. To clarify, I've used 7-Zip as instructed. (I've unpacked and reinstalled both skyrim legendayr edition, as well as this pack three times now)
Every single unpack I've done results in this error. I press OK, then start Skyrim through SKSE in MO. The cmd console pops up, and then Skyrim gives me a "Skyrim has stopped working" generic windows error with the load bar. I have no idea what's wrong here. As you can see, everything is in X:/Skyrim as well. Also, if I start Skyrim without MO, it runs perfectly fine, so I doubt it's Skyrim itself.
Edit: Clicking on SKSE loader in X:/Skyrim and not MO also results in the stopped working error.

•Run FNIS from MO (shorcut bar up top) -gender specific and skeleton arm fix -momo jump •Right click the override folder (botton down of MO) and click information •Drag all the files there to FNIS Behavior in MO's left pane •All done :)
Thanks! This seemed to have fix the animations problem.

Hi guys, having some issues finalizing the installation as well. Thus far, I've:
1. Created the partitioned off drive, 100gb. 2. Installed a Steam copy of Skyrim Legendary edition. 3. Moved the "Skyrim" directory down to the base folder so the file path is "X:/Skyrim" 4. Extracted all the files from the KAT.cr torrent into a directory using 7zip, then copied those files into the Skyrim directory (I was having an error extracting directly from the zip resulting in an incomplete number of mods loading). 5. Loaded ModOrganizer, identified the correct number of mods are loading (195 and 131) on the left and right, respectively. 6. Crashed when attempting to load SKSE through ModOrganizer after about 5-10 seconds of loading off my SSD.
Specs are a i5-2550k overclocked to 4.9 ghz, 980 TI oc'ed to 1400mhz on load, 16gb DDR3.
The only exception I see in the log is: INFO (17:24:31.0501): Windows Exception (c0000005). Origin: "unknown" (235f24f). Last hooked call: unsigned long __stdcall GetPrivateProfileStringA_rep(const char *,const char *,const char *,char *,unsigned long, const char *)
The only unusual thing about my computer is that I have an ultrawide monitor. I'm not sure if that would cause compatibility issues.
I've reviewed different threads and couldn't find anything that worked for me...any suggestions? Appreciate the help!

Changing system locale to United States solved the read error. I don't really understand why it solved it, but it did. It will be annoying changing it every time I want to play, but as long as it works, I'm fine. Thank you very much for this pack, it really does work perfectly.

I made the changes to the effect.txt file, with no new results. Still crashing on load.
I was unable to find the effect.txt.ini file via a search. Where is it located?
Also, I changed my resolution to 1080p and saw no different results. This makes me think the problem is elsewhere. Potentially with using a Steam install.

Ah. I misunderstood. I had already made the changes to the .txt. I made similar changes to the .ini with no avail. What else would cause a crash on load?

Do you by chance have task manager open?
Open enblocal.ini and set
ForceBorderlessFullscreen=true
More details about the problem would help too.

Hey Rotten,
I know its already been said but THANK YOU. Ever since I read about this on Reddit a couple days ago I've been so hyped. The only problem I'm having is that I've followed your directions to a T but what happens is that I can load in the main menu just fine, however after I select new game I get two pop ups, one regarding guild building and one other(sorry cant remember off the top of my head) . Those I can click yes on but then third thing that pops up is "Are you using frostfall?" After this pops up my game freezes and eventually crashes. I tired disabling frostfall and its ski ui addon but that wasn't working either. Any advice? Also when I have my headphones on it sounds like the game crashes right as its about to load into the world. Maybe a graphical issue?

Negative on the task manager.
Made the change to enblocal.ini with no change in effect.
More details: 1. From MO, I select run SKSE. 2. A command-prompt looking window labeled SKSE_Loader pops up for a few seconds, then disappears. 3. Nothing displays for a few moments. 4. A window labeled "Skyrim" with the Skyrim icon pops up in very small windowed mode (maybe 400x600) in the top left corner, and immediately presents the windows error for "Skyrim has stopped working".
I'm wondering if this error is unrelated to the resolution - if it had purely been the resolution, it would make sense that it should have worked fine when I changed my own resolution to 1080p. Aside from the task manager, can you think of anything else that causes general failures on loading?
Thanks again!

hey just did the steps in the install guide and i'm getting a missing executable error in when trying to start it through the mod organizer. I've installed the game through steam and moved the contents of the steamapps/common/skyrim folder to the base folder is that what i'm supposed to do?
The name of the missing executable would be of use. Game+Pack folder should be "X:\Skyrim"

Hey Rotten,
I know its already been said but THANK YOU.

Hey Rotten,
so i tried everything you said and I think it helped, but now what i accidentally realized is that i was able to load into a new game this time because enb was disabled (leftshift+f12) I am going to look at your performance guide to see if some adjustments to it will help. Any thought?
ps:the fact that you are quickly answering everyones questions and being so helpful is kind of unheard of these days. Thanks again

First check out performance guide... it contains quite a big number of tweaks if everything there fails :
•Open enblocal.ini and set EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false *This is a mistake on my part i was doing some test and forgot to set this back to false
•enblocal.ini and set UseDefferedRendering=false will disable some eye-candy(like AO,subsurface scattering etc)and the heavy hitters of ENB giving massive FPS boost and still keep some of the good stuff like Bloom,Adaptation and DOF.
If everything above else fails :
1.Open enblocal.ini and set library to false [PROXY] EnableProxyLibrary=true <<< false InitProxyFunctions=true <<< false ProxyLibrary=d3d9AL.dll
2.If this doesn't works try opening enbseries.ini and set process to true, this a last resort and will disable the ENB features completely but keep ENB boost.

Hey Rotten,
IT'S WORKING...IT'S WORKING. Thanks again for all your help. If I have any more problems I will check back in. It was the deferred rendering that did it. THANK YOU!!!

I have skyrim working great now. However I have terrible screen tearing and it doesn't look like v sync is working. I have it on in my radeon settings as well as in the mo configurator. Any advice?
