I wiped 4.2, and re-installed steam legendary. I moved the folder .../common/skyrim to x:/skyrim. This worked with 4.2. All mods show in left panel of MO, and when I hover over saves in right pane, it shows missing esp's as none. I can start skyrim, and get to the intro screen, but if I load a save, it tells me I have missing ESP's (All Esp's, even Dawnguard.) and the save won't load. If I try a new game, it locks up and won't load. I have also noticed that my left pane mods are in alphabetical order.

I would follow the Steam instructions, and unpack again. Steam runs into problems if you move the folder out of its file structure.

OK, I wiped everything, formatted x, and started over
Installed steam legendary to X:\Skyrim\steamapps\common\Skyrim
used 7zip to unzip spm 4.3 to X:\Skyrim\steamapps\common\Skyrim
Followed instructions to modify the ini file.
Here I had a little problem, all the x:/ had extra stuff in it, for example:
X:/Skyrim/steamapps/common/Skyrim/x/Skyrim/steamapps/common/Skyrim/MO MODS/FNIS Behavior/tools/GenerateFNIS_for_Users/GenerateFNISforUsers.exe
I scrolled through the ini, and fixed all of these

When I started MO for the first time, it could not find the executable. It asked me to select it. It was in the proper folder, but it only showed folders, no files, and no executables.

MO has nothing in left pane other than legendary mods listed, and nothing in right pane,

What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I was playing around with MO, and under settings, I clicked advanced, and re-selected the MO MODS folder. I now have stuff in the left pane, although it is all unselected, and again, I have the problem of the mods being out of order.

Edit 2: I went back to the original archive and opened it with 7zip. I copied X:\Skyrim Perfectly Modded V4.3.7z\Skyrim\profiles\RottenDub\modlist.txt and plugins.txt to X:\Skyrim\steamapps\common\Skyrim\profiles\RottenDub\ overwriting the ones generated by MO. This fixed the left and right panes, but I still have the original problem now with the saves not recognizing the esp's being loaded.
