Before reading this guide, be sure to follow the installation guide and the performance guide. AMD's software is quite lacking in terms of customizability, but we can make it work.The first step is to run your AMD software. This can be done by looking up "AMD settings" in the Windows 10 search box. The direct file path is C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext\RadeonSettings.exe.Once you've run the program, click on the "Updates" tab at the very bottom left of the window. Tick the "Check for Updates" box. If it lets you know that an update is available, update it. If not, you're good to go.
Next, click "Gaming" at the top left. At the top right, click "Add". Enter the file path X:\Skyrim\TESV.exe. You'll see "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" with the Skyrim logo as a new program. Click on it.
The following are the settings that I use. They are stable. Based on your system and your preferences, you can change some at your own risk.
Anti-Aliasing Mode --- Use applications settings
Anti-Aliasing Method --- Multisampling
Morphological Filtering --- Off
Anisotropic Filtering Mode ---
Override application settings
Anisotropic Filtering Level --- 16x
(This can be lowered if you don't have the best card.)Texture Filtering Quality --- Standard
Surface Format Optimization --- Off
Wait for Vertical Refresh (V-Sync) ---
Always onOpenGL Triple Buffering --- Off
Shader Cache --- AMD optimized
Tessellation Mode ---
Override application settingsMaximum Tessellation Level --- 4x (This can be increased to 6x or 8x on better cards)
You may now close the application.
Open X:\Skyrim\enblocal.iniScroll down and find the [MEMORY] section. Change
VideoMemorySizeMb=#### to your exact number of megabytes of video memory. Your card was likely advertized as having a certain number of gigabytes of memory (For example, "R9 380 4GB" or "R9 390 8GB").
I would
not recommend playing SPM with 2GB or less of VRAM, and certainly not 1GB or less.
Below is a guide to how many megabytes you have based on how many gigabytes you have.
1GB --- VideoMemorySizeMb=1024
2GB --- VideoMemorySizeMb=2048
3.5GB --- VideoMemorySizeMb=3584 Oh wait, AMD doesn't lie about VRAM :'D
4GB --- VideoMemorySizeMb=4096
8GB --- VideoMemorySizeMb=8192
Here's the tricky part.
There are three settings in the [MEMORY] section of enblocal.ini that will improve or damage your performance drastically based on how they're set. These settings are:
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true or false
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true or false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=true or false
To get the best performance out of SPM, you'll have to test each variation of these three settings, meaning you'll have to attempt to run Skyrim (which you do by running C:\Skyrim\ModOrganizer.exe and choosing SKSE in the drop down menu at the top right, then clicking run) with them all on true, them all on false, and everything in between until you get a game that is stable and gives you the best performance.
After you've found the best combination of the three, you may close out of enblocal.ini.
Run C:\Skyrim\ModOrganizer.exe Click 
at the top of the windowIncrease your FOV to about 75 or so (personal preference) with the slider at the bottom
Tick the "Depth-of-Field" box at the bottom right if you have a somewhat good card
Click "Textures"
Set Texture Quality based on your card's strength.
Tick all three "threaded" boxes if you have a multicore CPU.
Click "Models/World"
Change the Object/Actor/Item Fade based on your card's strength
Decrease or increase "Grids" to 3 or 7 if you're experienced and you know the risks.
Tick all three "threaded Meshes/Morpher/LODs" boxes if you have a multicore CPU.
Click "Trees"
Tick the "use Threading" box if you have a multicore CPU.
Click "Grass"
Increase Grass Density if your card is below average. Decrease it if your card is above average. (Less is more for this setting). It shouldn't go below 50 until you know your card can handle the extra rendering. It shouldn't go above 90 until you know your card can't handle 90. 70 is a happy medium, and is best for most cards.
Click "Lighting"
Set Shadow Resolution to 4096 if your card is excellent. Set it to 1024 if it's not very good. Otherwise, set it to 2048.
Click "Water"
Set Reflection Resolution to 2048 if your card is excellent. Set it to 512 if it's not very good (or untick the box "Draw Reflection" if you don't want to render reflections at all). Otherwise, set it to 1024.
You may now close the Skyrim config.
Find the left pane in Mod Organizer. It should have a list of many many mods, and is basically half of the screen.
Do not untick any mods that do not start with "Optional".Disable [Optional Texture]Gildergreen 4K Parallax. Doing so boosted me from 30 FPS in cities/ 40 FPS Outdoors/ 55 FPS Indoors to 50/55/60.If your system is quite good, I recommend enabling "[Optional Alternative 2k Plants 1] RM" and "[Optional Alternative 2k Plants 1] RM", or even [Optional Alternative
4k Plants 1] RM" and "[Optional Alternative
4k Plants 1] RM" if your system is excellent.
Most other optional mods are retextures, which means disabling them will give you some other texture that isn't as HD. This is recommended for people with bad systems, as it'll decrease the load on your graphics card.
If you're getting bad performance outside, you can disable [Optional Recommended]Verdant 2.2, which will mean you'll have the vanilla grass and will gain 10-15 FPS.
If you're getting bad performance in cities, you can disable [Optional Male Body](4K2K HIGH) and/or [Optional CBBE Body](4K2K HIGH), which will mean you'll have the vanilla NPC bodies and will gain some performance as well.
If you have a seriously bad system (such as a laptop or old/ inexpensive PC) but you're hell-bent on running SPM, I'll soon be uploading a tutorial on getting the absolute highest performance you can possibly get in SPM, so look out for that!
